Kevin Falcon was first elected in 2001 as a British Columbia Liberal to represent the riding of Surrey-Cloverdale, and re-elected in 2005.
Before his election to the Legislative Assembly, Falcon was president of the Access Group, a corporate communications firm he formed in 1998. He has also worked in the real estate development industry and was vice-president of Northwest Investment Properties. Prior to attending university, he spent five years working in the general insurance industry.
Kevin Falcon is largely regarded as one of the more conservative members of caucus. As British Columbia's Minister of Transportation, he was one of the few ministers to keep his original portfolio in the cabinet shuffle following the election.
Who funds Falcon?
"Kevin Falcon is a popular man among property developers, managers and builders. So popular, in fact, that the provincial Liberal transportation minister's financial agent collected at least $61,500 from the industry immediately prior to and during the 2005 election campaign. And he received a further $18,500 from transportation interests, according to an analysis conducted by Public Eye."
